FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wedding Flower FAQs

Planning your wedding flowers often comes with plenty of questions. Here you'll find answers to some of the things I'm asked most often, from pricing and seasonal availability to delivery, bookings and the design process.

Do you have a minimum spend?

Yes, Vintage Milly has a minimum wedding flower spend of $640. I’ve kept this minimum intentionally lower than many traditional wedding florists, making bespoke floral design more accessible for intimate celebrations and couples who would rather invest in a smaller selection of beautifully considered flowers. The minimum allows me to source the quality and quantity of seasonal blooms needed to create your designs while covering the time and preparation involved in each wedding. Your $640 minimum can be made up of any combination of wedding flowers, so you can choose to invest in the elements that matter most to you, whether that’s a beautiful bridal bouquet and personal flowers, ceremony flowers, reception arrangements or a combination of these. For school balls and special occasions, corsage and buttonhole packages have a minimum order starting from $120.

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as you have your wedding date and venue secured. Many couples book 12–18 months in advance, particularly for spring and autumn weddings, but if your wedding is sooner, please don't hesitate to enquire. If I'm available, I'll always do my best to help.

Do you travel?

Yes. I'm based in Perth and happily create wedding flowers throughout the Perth metropolitan area and surrounding regions. If your celebration is a little further away, simply let me know your venue and I'll provide a customised quote that includes any travel requirements.

Can I choose specific flowers?

Absolutely—but with a little flexibility. I love incorporating favourite flowers wherever possible; however, nature doesn't always stick to the plan. Flower availability changes throughout the seasons, and occasionally growers experience shortages due to weather or crop conditions. Rather than promising exact blooms months in advance, I design around your colour palette, style and overall feeling, selecting the most beautiful seasonal flowers available at the time. The result is always fresh, natural and uniquely yours.

What if I don't know what flowers I want?

You're certainly not alone. Most couples know how they want their wedding to feel rather than knowing the names of specific flowers. Bring along Pinterest inspiration, fabric swatches, photographs, or simply describe the atmosphere you're hoping to create. Together we'll develop a floral design that reflects your style and complements your day beautifully.

Can I make changes after booking?

Yes, changes can usually be made after booking, and I understand that ideas and plans can evolve as your wedding day approaches. Small adjustments to flower varieties, colours and design details are welcome, and additional items can often be added where availability allows. To help with planning and ordering, final quantities are confirmed closer to your wedding date, and while items can be added, reductions in quantities may affect minimum costs and are not always possible once flowers and materials have been ordered. I’ll always work with you to ensure any changes are discussed clearly along the way.

Do you set everything up?

Yes. If your wedding includes ceremony or reception florals, I'll deliver and carefully style everything so it's looking beautiful before your guests arrive. Collection after the event can also be arranged for hired items and larger floral installations.

Do you offer hire items?

I don’t keep styling or hire items in stock, but I can arrange a range of beautiful pieces through trusted third-party hire suppliers to complement your wedding flowers. If you’re looking for items such as vases, urns, plinths or other styling pieces, I’m happy to help source suitable options and coordinate these as part of your overall floral design. Hire costs will be quoted separately and depend on the items selected and supplier availability.

What happens if a flower becomes unavailable?

Because flowers are seasonal and grown by nature, availability can occasionally change without notice.

If this happens, I'll carefully select a premium alternative that matches your colour palette, style and overall design. My priority is always creating arrangements that feel cohesive, abundant and beautiful.

When is payment due?

A booking fee is required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is due three weeks prior to your wedding, with the payment schedule outlined in your proposal and booking agreement.

Do you create flowers for elopements and intimate weddings?

Absolutely. Some of my favourite weddings are the smallest ones. Whether you're exchanging vows with just a handful of loved ones or planning a larger celebration, every wedding receives the same thoughtful care and attention.

Can you recreate flowers from a Pinterest photo?

Pinterest is a wonderful source of inspiration, but I don't believe in copying someone else's wedding exactly. Instead, I use your inspiration as a starting point and create something that reflects your own story, your venue and the beauty of the season. That's what makes your wedding uniquely yours.
